Purpose and installation

The optional Seasons plugin supplies photographs for compatible seasonal theme IDs. Install and activate RLC Core first, then install and activate the Seasons add-on as a separate plugin.

Supported image organization

The background files are stored under assets/backgrounds/{season}/{theme-slug}.webp or .avif. The pack reads the theme ID from the Core registry. AVIF is checked before WebP when both exist.

Academics and Back to School

The Academics collection stores photographs directly under assets/backgrounds/academics/. Back to School templates can use Academics themes and their matching photographs; they do not require a standalone set of older Back to School images.

Focal positions

Use positions.json to override image positions for individual theme slugs. Keep JSON syntax valid and use tested CSS background-position values.

Updating without losing images

Back up the installed pack and its assets/backgrounds directory before replacing the plugin. Development delta packages may deliberately omit images, so never install one as though it were a complete distribution.

Troubleshooting

If a photograph does not appear, check plugin activation, theme ID, CSS registry mapping, image filename, folder path, file permissions, and browser/network caching. Confirm the campaign-level disable-photo checkbox is unchecked.
